It was tough deciding which Iliked more out of Thulsa Doom and Claw, but I had to go with Claw just because I love the character so much, and Andy Smith's art was great. Of course, so is Will Conrad's.

Savage Red Sonja: Queen of the Frozen Wastes was the worst comic I read this year, and I read a LOT of comics. Frank Cho should stick to drawing porn and give writing a huge miss next time.

The Claw series was good. I actually felt sorry for the guy.

I'd give it a B+

The other series were okay. Thulsa deserves a B.

But TBH Cho's mini did nothing for me. It was a C.

I liked Thulsa Doom, was pretty nice to bring him back. Just felt odd because he was the one responsibe for killing Conan's family so it felt akward to see Sonja up against him...

I liked Savage Red Sonja - Queen of the Frozen wastes, but I haven't yet read Thulsa Doom... I will post my grades after I read Thulsa.

For me, QOFW is the better of the three series.

Thulsa Doom - Story: C, Art: B+
Story was weak. Thulsa spent too much time disguised in Red Sonja's band but only one weak attempt on Sonja in the pond? Too much plot was based on the "super metal" control but the attack on capital is very weak and not much is shown of the metal and its so called powers? Also, in the end, when Thulsa had a chance to kill Sonja from behind in the mines, he merely makes his snake bite her shoulder to make her unconcious and then chained her to the wall. Why not kill her and get rid of her? I guess all super heroes and heroines are retained otherwise DE might have to cancel the entire series.

I liked Conrad's art, but felt the last two issues were rushed. The close-up expressions were drawn well but the long distant or complete shots were not always well drawn.

Claw - Story: B+, Art: B+
Story was ok. This series mainly to promote DC's Claw. Too much blood and gore, otherwise straightforward story and plot.

Art was ok. I tought Claw's body was drawn a little bit unproportionally. Too much muscular from upper part and thighs, with very slim belly. This was espcially obvious from side views. I thought the action art was a little too monotonic, same type of sword slashing and fighting action. I did like extra busty Sonja and scantier armor ;).

QOFW - Story: A-, Art: A
I liked the story. The queen concept was intriguing. I wish a little more could have been shown of her evolution and powers instead of multiple arena fights of Sonja. But overall the story kept my interest until the last part, unlike the previous two series.

I really liked Homs art. I think so far, after Rubi, he did a good job on Sonja.

That's how I felt about the thress series :)...

:)

Yeh, Savage Sonja wins out for me. Of the three, it has both my favourite artwork and favourite covers, plus I probably enjoyed the storyline the best. :D
