Avatars

Are we allowed to use avatars, the posts are kinda boring without them.

Go to "User CP" at the left of the menu bar at the top of the screen. Your peronal control panel should pop-up in a new window. On the left-hand side, under "Settings and Options", there should be an option called "Edit Avatar". That should bring-up a screen allowing you to upload an avatar. That oughtta work! :)

I've never actually used an avatar on any board, so I've never done this. But give it a try and see how you go! :D

yeah, I tried but there is no way to upload an image or choose a default Avatar and the only selection available to me is "do not use an avatar"

That's...odd... :confused:

*There should be a second box below the one titled "Your Current Avatar" (the box that has the "Do not use an avatar" option in it). The box below should be titled "Custom Avatar", with an option "Use Custom Avatar" in it, then fillable fields with option to download one from the web or your PC.

Okay - just went and checked from this end if I could upload an avatar to your profile, and apparently it's not permitted. I'll see what I can do mate...

Righto - further to an additional recent enquiry on this, I have a little bit of info for you.

I recieved an email today from Brandon Primavera, the administrator of the Dynamite message boards. At this stage, it is unclear as to why avatars will not work on this site - despite Brandon's best efforts over an extended period of time to make them available. The creators of the original software have been contacted on the issue in the attempt to get to the bottom of the problem.

So, for the time being avatars are still off-line, but will hopefully be available at some stage during the year as additional information from the software manufacturer comes to hand.

That was the strangest part of the whole thing - it seemed to work on my own profile, but didn't on any other... :confused:

Update: Brandon has tinkered with the coding, and board members can now use avatars! It looks like the problem has been fixed! :D

*Note: Please, for the time being, do not post animated avatars or signatures, as these can begin to slow the board down and make navigation less easy. Thanks guys!
