Red Sonja #2! Your Thoughts?

Well, Red Sonja #2 has well-and-truly hit the shelves by now! Thanks go to Nikolai for posting the earlier link to the teaser art in the meantime! :D

I really enjoyed it. I liked the way we're building up a cast of characters such as the celestial, Fa, the guardman, and the return of the girl from #0. I also think the art and the coloring is continuing to be great. It's all building up quite nicely. The atmosphere's very good too, they obviously thought very hard about a certain type of S&S. What they did at the end was a pretty big deal for the second issue.

I was less impressed with the Thulsa Doom preview, but it has to be hard to do something interesting in so little space.

I definitely agree with regard to the artwork, and the building-up of the cast! Good point re: the ending of this one. I guess they haven't exactly killed her off, but I'll be interested to see how this is dealt with! :D

With the Thulsa Doom preview, yeh - I guess that's kind of a tricky one. It's going to be hard to please everyone. I didn't find it as engaging as the regular feature, but I'm curious.

*What do you reckon so far of the approach being taken to the Hyborian setting?

I was also very happy with the second issue.

I am really looking forward to the series monthy, so lets hope all the kinks and printing problems become old news.
